A New Year Set in Motion

...Perpetual Motion, that is. The Perpetual Motion Roadshow kicks off 2004 with the second run between Vancouver and LA on January 12-19. This month features online crooner Jack Saturn from Portland, science fiction soundscaper Ellie Belew from Roslyn, and ninja poetess Cynthia Gould from Toronto. The disturbing and sublime vids made by Emily Vey Duke and Cooper Battersby will be shown between the acts.

This picture of Cynthia was taken when she was on the east coast Roadshow back in June, and it was used for an article on indie touring in the Globe and Mail. She said it was a weird feeling to see her face sandwiched between Johnny Depp and Katherine Hepburn on the cover of Canada's national paper. "A bit much for a Monday before I'd had my coffee," she said.
